Introducing the Agentic First Draft: From Trial Balance to Financial Statement

We built Inscope because the financial statement was the last part of the audit nobody had modernized. Today we're taking the next step with the Agentic First Draft.

Penny used to review the financial statements. Now she drafts them.

Trial balance mapping has been available for years, but teams still spend hours resolving unmapped or changed accounts and manually transferring numbers into financial statements.

With Agentic First Draft, Penny uses the trial balance and prior-year financial statements to generate your current year financial statements and workbook. That includes the face of the financials and the footnotes, populated wherever the available data supports them. She uses logic and reasoning to infer account mappings and work through new and updated accounts, flagging items she isn’t confident about for your team to review. You get a populated, traceable workbook, ready for review.

Straight from the audit binders

None of this works if getting the trial balance into the platform is its own project. So we built for where the data already lives.

The trial balance flows into Inscope directly from the audit platform your firm already uses. No exports, no re-keying, and no reconciling manually entered numbers against the workpapers.

Built in Excel

Penny prepares the schedules in the Excel workbook.

She carries account mappings through the workbook and links the populated figures to their source data. Your team can trace the numbers back to the trial balance and prior-year financial statements. When the trial balance changes, the linked statements update with it.

Standard formulas and a readable mapping table make Penny’s work easy to check.

Every financial statement still passes your review

Penny drafts. Your team reviews. Every Agentic First Draft reaches a reviewer checkpoint before it moves forward. Your team checks the draft against the supporting trial balance and retains responsibility for the financial statements issued under your firm’s name.

The Agentic First Draft is available today.
